Receipt Printer leaves slivers of paper behind when opening cash drawer

Sensible Cinema Box Office and Concession for Windows

VERSION COMPATIBILITY:
Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP using a partial-cut or full-cut  receipt printer default printer driver for Windows.

HARDWARE INVOLVED:
Citizen, Epson, Samsung, etc. receipt printers with cash drawer kick plug. ESC/POS language emulation.

SYMPTOM:
The drawer open procedure causes the printer to cut a sliver of paper.

RESOLUTION:

The receipt printer full-cut or partial-cut driver will always issue a cut at the end of it’s being called via code. The only way to avoid a paper cut is to use a non-cut or no-cut driver or call one specifically at the time the paper is to be cut as with our software.

Steps:

1)                 Install the CBM-232 No-Cut driver or EPSON TM-T88II No cut driver from the Sensible Cinema Box Office for Windows distribution CD-ROM

2)                 Make sure the Full-Cut or Partial-Cut driver remains the computer’s default printer.

3)                 Double-Click the “Terminal Setup” icon. Select “Ticket Printer Setup.” Select “Thermal Ticket Printer” and press the “Configure Printer” button.

4)                 In the “Printer Driven Cash Drawer” window, select the name of the non-cut driver you installed. Test the drawer open.
