How To Setup Your Thermal Receipt Printer
Sensible Cinema Box Office and Concession for Windows

VERSION COMPATIBILITY:
Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP using a partial-cut receipt printer printer driver for Windows. Note, currently we do not have a driver for Vista that formats correctly.

HARDWARE INVOLVED:
Citizen CBM-1000, CBM-231, Epson TM-T88II, Epson TM-T88III, Epson TM-T88IV, Samsung SRP-350, Ithaca 610, Other ESC/POS Compatible Printers

STEPS TO INSTALL DRIVER:
No matter which printer you are using you must install the EPSON TM-T88II Partial cut driver from the Sensible Cinema Box Office for Windows distribution CD-ROM. For Windows XP, use the Windows 2000 driver.  Driver installation is accomplished by using the “Add a Printer Wizard” found in the Windows Control Panel. Using another driver will allow you to print but the text will not be properly formatted as shown in the example ticket below. If you do not have the Sensible Cinema CD-ROM, the Epson driver disk is available under “Support-> Drivers and Utilities” on our web site at http://www.sensiblecinema.com/bow/drivers.htm. Epson’s new “Advanced Printer Driver” available on their web site will not give you the results shown in the example below.

IN WINDOWS XP/2000:

1.      Start the Add a Printer Wizard under Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel.

2.      Select Local Printer attached to this computer (unless setting up a networked printer)

3.      Select the LPT1 port for a parallel printer, the respective com port for a serial printer.

4.      Select the button marked “Have Disk” and browse to the Printer driver folder on the Sensible Cinema CD-ROM found under D:\SUPPORT\Printer Drivers\Epson\Printer Drivers for Windows 2000 and XP. *

5.      If the installation prompts for a driver disk file *RAS___.DLL” or something like that press the “OK” button, “Browse” button, then highlight that filename and press “Next.”

Note: If given a warning about driver compatibility or driver signature, ignore it and choose “Continue Anyway.” If you wish to use a printer driven cash drawer with this printer, add a no-cut driver as well.

*(Substitute the drive letter of your CD-ROM Drive for “D” above.)

STEPS TO CONFIGURE SENSIBLE CINEMA TERMINALS:

1.      Select the printer type (FGL or ESC/POS) in the Terminal Setup Utility under Ticket Printer Setup. If using this printer for receipts only and a ticket printer for tickets, leave the Ticket printer type to FGL and set up this printer under Receipt Printer Setup. There you will select the driver to be used when printing receipts.

2.      Select the printer driver for tickets under Select Driver Preferences in the Terminal Setup Utility.

3.      For Cash Drawers attached to receipt printers: Open the Ticket Printer Setup and “Configure Printer.” In the “Printer Driven Cash Drawer” window of the Ticket Printer Setup, select the name of the non-cut driver you installed. Test the drawer open.
