VERSION
COMPATIBILITY:
Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP
PROBABLE CAUSE:
The playdate was created blank
rather than from the master feature template and the blank template has a
corrupted concession item table. This was noticed in November of 2002 and all
users were notified of the issue and a replacement for the file playdate.dll
was made available for download. Replacing the file will prevent new playdates
created as “blank” (without the importing of features from the master feature
template) from having the corrupted table.
RESOLUTIONS:
Replace your playdate.dll
file with this one. (Download
and if possible, save the file to the path shown in #1 and
overwrite the existing file). Then follow these important steps:
1) If you didn’t download the file to the program folder (C:\Program
Files\Sensible Cinema Software\Box Office for Windows), place the
downloaded file in that folder and overwrite the existing file.
2) VERY IMPORTANT STEP: Open your Master Program Configuration and
go to the Admissions tab. Press the Update Configuration button.
This updates pricing in the blank playdate template file. If this step is not
done, your prices and sales categories will be wrong for any new playdates
created as blank. Be sure to do this step.
3) Delete any unused playdates created empty (as
opposed to where features from the master feature template were imported during
creation). Existing used playdates created without importing your feature table
will have the corrupted concession sales table. Re-create those playdates after
you have installed this new playdate.dll file.
NOTE: You can verify that your sales
are being recorded by any of the following methods: 1) At the terminal log in
as a manager and go to the “Menu” and observe that items are recorded in the
sales history under concessions, or 2) Observe sales from the manager’s station
by selecting the appropriate terminal and pressing the Concession button to see
individual item sales in real time, or 3) Open the Management Component Daily
Reports window in a session and go to the Concession Tab and observe that items
are being added to the database.
