VERSION
COMPATIBILITY:
Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP using the Datamax
Pass-Thru Driver
HARDWARE INVOLVED:
FGL Language Ticket Printers (Boca,
Practical Automation, Datamax) – This does not affect
receipt printers like those by Citizen, Epson, Samsung, etc.
SYMPTOM:
Nothing happens when a receipt
should be printing for a credit card or just plain store receipt. This happens
because there are no hard carriage returns being sent to the printer because of
a driver configuration problem.
RESOLUTION:
If
you are using Windows XP, you should be using the Generic/Text Only driver
shipped with Windows XP as your system’s default printer driver. Windows 2000
users must use the Datamax Pass-Thru driver for all
FGL printers, including Boca and Practical Automation models.
If you are using Windows
2000 Professional and the Datamax Pass-Thru driver:
There
are two properties for the Datamax Pass-Thru printer that
must be set prior to use. Right-click the driver icon found under printers in
the Windows control panel. Select
“Properties” from the pop-up menu. Select the “Settings” tab in the properties
menu. Under “End of Line Action” select “Add a Carriage Return and a Line Feed”
and under “End of Document Action” select “Add a form feed.”
